loud whine sound when car is hot

I am still a JRSC'd newbie, but is it normal for a highpitched whine to occur when the car is hot? I am thinking it is either the fuel pump (Walbro-GS342) or more likely the Cartech 20005 unit, since it sounds like that is where it is coming from. Sometimes there is no sound, sometimes a little when I first drive, say less than 30 minutes. On a long hot drive, like an hour the sound is very loud, and occurs even with the motor off but the power still on. Anyone offer up similiar experiences or have a suggestion? Thanks

with the car on ignition 2, and a whine existing....the whine is probably going to be related to your fuel system. Odd enough, I have 3 whining sounds ...none are problematic.... but none are really "loud" as you say yours is..

1)my iacv makes a whining sound....when in ignition 2... Completely functional, so i don't care.

2)my walbro 342 makes a slight whining when the engine is on.

3)my fuel rail area/stock fpr/accumulator cap area makes a whining sound when the car was just shut off.

Also, search for "idler pulley"

some of the idlers have failed and make loud wirring noises, JR will replace them free.

Whoops I didn't read your post correctly...

THE IDLER DOESN'T MOVE WHEN THE MOTOR IS OFF.
